Is it okay to donate unused/no longer needed medical supplies?
My client has been taken off insulin,the doc says he no longer needs it.His home health care nurse has ALOT of clients on insulin who are very low income and on fixed income.Would it be okay for me on behalf of my client to give thse supplies to him to give to his less fortunate clients?Justthe syringes and testing strips which are all still in the original sealed packages.The VA won't take them back and I really feel bad just tossing them after destroying the syringes if someone who can not afford them could really use them.What do you think?The cost of these supplies is astronomical. P.S. Already called several drug rehab clinics and they said NO,they willnot accept them. Thank you all for all your help with this,and my previous ?s.

Having a problem trying to donate medical supplies to charitible organazations?
After my mother passed a couple of years back, I just started to look for organizations in the Los Angeles area that could use items such as a power scooter, walkers, portable medical toilet. It seems like no body will take the items. I could try and sell the items myself, but would rather donate them so somebody less fortunate can benefit from it. If you have any ideas, please let me know. I thought donating would be easier. Go figure

my dad just had surgery and we have to pack the wound and we are having a hard time finding help get supplies we are using a lot of glaze and 4x4 and wet pruf pads and tape and glove but we cant seem to get help anyone know where we might get some helpwe have been doin it all on our own and we r runnin low on money and if we cant find help soon we r goin to have to send him to a nurseing home

What medical supplies are needed on most mission trips?
I am an RN who volunteers at a warehouse that takes in medical supplies for local medical mission trips to third world countries and disaster events. On a regular basis we receive very high tech equipment from local hospitals. Having never been on a mission trip and being the only resource for this organization I have a hard time deciding what to save that could actually be used, and what to recycle or trash. Some of the supplies require machines, pumps, electricity, etc. that I'm sure is not available in many of these areas. It has been suggested by another volunteer that we send everything and they will take what they need. But I don't want to create more waste in a country that can ill afford it.Looking for names of organizations and contacts that may be helpful in these areas. Have so many questions. Want to do all I can with the supplies coming in.

I'm writing a research project and proposal on how to change the arrangement of the back of the ambulance. I am an EMT B and our current arrangement is not exactly logical in patient care. I am trying to get my company to allow re arrangement of the supplies and tagging so that everything is always accounted for, everything is in the same spot no matter what truck I'm in, and patient care can be done quicker when the supplies are withing reach and not blocked by the cot. I need sources for information on how other companies or fire stations anything really on a logical way to organize the truck. There are no drugs on my truck usually because I am on a basic truck.
